Season underway!
Our first home games, and our first on our new ground have been played.
In the Premiership we ran out winners 12.13 to 9.6 after a strong second quarter into a patchy breeze set up a handy three goal margin. Great possession and some fluid passages of play were very encouraging throughout.
Earlier Putney had had the better of Clapham winning by a few goals, after South London had thumped the Magpies' thirds in the first ever game on the new ground.
The field is only a few hundred yards form the ground on which we've played since 1990, and although it is sad to have left that patch of the common, the new one is one the area reserved for sports, slightly north and towards the juncton, and won't be interrupted by concerts and the like, which are becoming very common on the Common these days!
Another bonus is that the council have installed permanent goalposts, which we can use for trainings and matches without having to move them. They'll be there through the summer months anyway.
Next week we're away at Wimbledon. Hope to see everyone down at training on Tuesday and Thursday.
