After an impressive Round 1, the conference team came up against the North London Lions. With 11 changes from the Round 1 team, the game presented a great opportunity in what was the first hit out for a number of players. The demons got out of the blocks early kicking 4 goals, while restricting the lions to 1 behind. It all started in the midfield led by H, Fin, and Evan who were on top from the outset resulting in a number of inside 50's. Big Dick (fos) was able to get his hands on a few, and if he wasn't marking them he was bringing them to the ground and our smalls were able to get on the end of a couple.

The second term continued much like the first with the Demons kicking 3 goals to the Lions 1. Despite a host of changes, the new look backline including Harambe, Whitehead (zit) and Kirby held strong and set up a number of attacks.

A super first half by the boys set up a commanding lead at half time but we always knew the Lions would fight to the end. And that they did. With wet weather starting to set in, the big bodied Lions turned the game into a real contest. Neither team was able to get on top, kicking 3 goals apiece for the half.

A special mention to the backline who held strong throughout and the midfield who won the midfield battle for a second week in a row. And while the wet conditions made it a little tough for the forwards, a shout out to John Griff, Soon and Dickfos who created a number of opportunities up forward.

A great first half and a competitive second half saw the demons run out victors by 41 points.

The challenge for the boys is to keep the momentum going as we look to Round 3 against the Giants.
